Fly Tying Materials

We stock a wide range of the more popular fly tying materials and some of the harder to find materials:

  • Enrico Puglisi  EP Fibers -  This material holds it shape in water. Sort of a cult fly tying material.
  • 1/4” Thick  Foam (extra firm)  9 X 6 “   Orange, Pink, Tan, yellow, and white. Very popular for VIP poppers
  • Flex – Floss or Floss Flex  -  are the same materials.  A tough rubber like material that is rapidly  replacing the old rubber leg material. Used as tailing material on poppers (like the VIP) and used anywhere you want
    more flexible legs.  I believe it’s a big improvement. Different colors in stock.
  • Ever Glow Flash –   Orange is used as the tail on the saltwater fly VooDoo Child.  We stock Orange and several other colors.
  • Schlappen Feathers  -   A transitional feather between the saddle and tail of a Rooster.  A long, wide, and webby feather that fly tiers are finding more ways to use on saltwater  and streamer flies.  We stock 5 colors.
  • Small Jig Hooks with  a lead head - plain lead, Silver or Gold -  1/124,  1/80, 1/64   Note: Tie on a Pearl Krystal flash tail, a Gold tinsel Body, and a pair of yellow rubber legs. A FISH CATCHER  in the Texas Hill Country.
  • Frog Hair Tippets and Leaders - These are made by Gamma Technologies. Their main product, over the years, has been tennis racket strings.  The point being they have the know-how to make leaders that are more shock resistance than other leaders.
  • Frog Hair Strike Indicators -    New for 2005.  This is a winner. Easy to put on the leader, easy to adjust on the leader,  will not come come off while fishing, and is reusable. We stock Micro and Small size.
